Best Cities for Housing

Based on the Mercer 2011 Quality of Living Survey, the following are the cities with the best quality of life in Asia Pacific.

Five best city dominated by the cities in Australia: Sydney finished second there (number 11 internationally), Melbourne (18) finished fourth, and Perth (21) in fifth.

Nevertheless, the city at the top in the Asia Pacific region is Auckland (3), New Zealand. Other cities in New Zealand who entered the order of five in the Asia Pacific region is Wellington (13).

Cities that are in the next sequence is Singapore (25), Tokyo (46), Hong Kong (70), Kuala Lumpur (76), Seoul (80), and Taipei (85).

For clarity, here are 11 best cities in Asia Pacific:

     Auckland,
     Sydney,
     Wellington,
     Melbourne,
     Perth,
     Singapore,
     Tokyo,
     Hong Kong,
     Kuala Lumpur,
     Seoul, and
     Taipei.

Singapore listed in the order of 8 as a city with the best security in the world, followed by Auckland and Wellington in the order of 9. Canberra, Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney together in the order of 25. Tokyo, Kobe, Nagoya, Osaka and Yokohama are in the order of 31.

"Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore dominate due to constantly invest in infrastructure and public services," said Slagin Parakatil, senior researcher at Mercer.

Despite having the cities in the top, some Asian cities are listed at the bottom. "Largely because of the instability of social conditions, politics, natural disasters, and do not like infrastructure," said Parakatil.
