Time of Death Can Know Through DNA

GLASGOW - How long can someone live? Scientists have now found a way to estimate how long a person's age by measuring the gene when the person is still in its infancy.

The lifespan of people imprinted on the DNA and can be seen from the day of birth of the person. It all depends on the telomeres, which are substances that protect chromosomes from damage. The longer the telomeres are found in DNA, it means a longer lifespan. It is of course a relative predictions, and do not include deaths due to sudden illness or lifestyle factors.

Proclaimed the Daily Mail, Wednesday (11/12/2012), currently the scientists conducted extensive research on telomeres are considered to hold the key to aging. They found the telomeres can be shortened in accordance with life choices, including smoking and stress. But this is just the first indication to suggest that a person's lifespan may be determined since birth.

"The results of this study indicate that what happens to our bodies in the early stages of life, has a value that is very important," said Pat Monaghan, head of research at Glasgow University.

"It's not understood why there is variation in the length of telomeres, but if someone could choose, he would want born with longer telomeres," he added.

The scientists conducted the study using zebra finches, which are commonly found in Australia. In humans, these studies typically involve only the elderly, because of the time range. In the future, people may be able to test how the length of their telomeres and determine the duration of his life.

"If you want to test this, I think no one will want to know. This will only make you confused. But this also must be remembered that way of life has a big impact. This is not a case about a more powerful nature of the maintenance carried out someone, "tadas Pat.
