China PMI Likely Up A Touch at 50.6 in May - Poll

0752 GMT [Dow Jones] China's official manufacturing purchasing managers' index likely ticked up slightly to 50.6 in May from 50.4 in April, according to the median forecast of eight economists polled by Dow Jones. The manufacturing sector is reaping the benefits of government stimulus measures, and there could be more to come. "If economic growth slows down further or the property market deteriorates, we do not rule out the possibility that the government will become more aggressive in easing its policies," says CIMB economist Fan Zhang. The official PMI is due to be released at 0200 GMT on Sunday. (richard.silk@dowjones.com)
