US Long Bond Yield Hits 2014 Low

14:23 EDT - The long bond is back at it again. As if the solid payrolls report never happened, the 30-year Treasury is up 1 1/32 to yield 3.351%. That's the lowest since June 2013, when yields were shooting higher amid fears about the Fed tapering QE. That snap up in yield is said to have renewed pension and insurance funds' appetite for longer-dated Treasurys. Traders say to expect the yield curve to flatten further as concerns shift to the timing of the Fed's first rate hike, which will weigh on shorter-end notes. The yield gap between 3- and 30-year Treasurys narrowed to 2.484 percentage points, the smallest since December 2012. (cynthia.lin@wsj.com; @cynthialin_dj)
