0639 GMT [Dow Jones] The Turkish lira has strengthened against the dollar Thursday as carry traders eyeing some policy stimulus from the European Central Bank next week step in to buy, says Turk Economi Bankasi. The currency had been pressured this week by Prime Minister Erdogan's strong support for lower interest rates. The Turkish central bank will publish the minutes of last week's policy meet later, along with its biannual financial stability report. Markets will comb both for any signs of further monetary easing in Turkey, but there's no presentation from the governor this time. USD/TRY is now at 2.0976. (yeliz.candemir@wsj.com)
