China arrests over accusation Cybercrime 15000 People

The Chinese government reported the arrest of about 15,000 people for suspected involvement in the case of cybercrime. They are captured in the program "Operation Clean Internet" which will last for 6 months.

Ministry of Public Security or the Ministry of State Security Preformance indeed hold a clean-up operation of the Internet since last July. The goal is to cut off communications networks cybercriminals while building a healthy internet environment. Until now, authorities are already investigating the 7400 case with the majority of them are cases of hacking and theft of financial data.

According to the official account, there are 10 major cases being demolished including cyber attacks against a telecommunications company. There is also the theft of financial information via spam, dropping campaign groups and online investment scams.
