Police: 3 members of family fatally shot; suspect killed - Authorities say three of four members of a family were shot and killed and a 12-year-old girl wounded at their Columbus, Ohio, home. The suspect died after being shot by police.

The shooting happened around 5 p.m. Monday in the Hilltop section of the city.

A Columbus police spokesman says three officers shot suspect Barry Kirk after a short chase outdoors near the home where the shooting happened. The 50-year-old Kirk was taken to a nearby hospital where he died Monday night.

Sgt. Rich Weiner identified the dead as 31-year-old John Anderson II, 30-year-old Christina Anderson and their son, 7-year-old Landon Anderson.

Their 12-year-old daughter who wasn't identified is hospitalized. Her condition is unknown.
