Giardi: Danny Amendola OUT Against the Broncos - Comcast Sportsnet New England host Mike Giardi reports that New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola will not be traveling to Denver to face the Broncos. The Patriots will have just two healthy wide receivers in Brandon LaFell and Chris Harper, with Keshawn Martin (hamstring) likely forced to play a handful of snaps due to roster limitations.

WBZ's Steve Burton was the first to report that the Patriots were not intending to bring Amendola to Denver, but the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe filed a counter report that the decision was not going to be made until after Amendola was given an opportunity to work out on Saturday morning. Giardi is the first to report the team's final decision.

NESN's Doug Kyed reported that the Patriots elevated tight end Asante Cleveland from the practice squad. New England acquired Cleveland in the offseason from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for offensive lineman Jordan Devey.

The Cleveland promotion points to the Patriots relying more heavily on tight end sets against the Broncos strong defense, with four active tight ends in Rob Gronkowski, Michael Williams, Scott Chandler, and Cleveland.
