About 353,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from 2011-2012 model years had problems with wiring in the vanity mirrors, which could cause the cars to overheat and create a fire hazard.
The Grand Cherokee and Durango recall was a large one, but not the only one from Fiat Chrysler. Nearly 100,000 Jeep Compass and Patriot SUVs will also be recalled from the 2015 model year, due to an out of position clamp. This recall will require inspection and a fix from Fiat Chrysler of the clamp, which may have caused power steering fluid to leak and also create a fire hazard.
In both cases, thankfully, no accidents or injuries have been reported.
