Donald Trump To Skip Debate

Trump announces veterans charity event to rival Fox News debate - It is looking less and less likely that Donald Trump will back out of his boycott of Thursday’s Fox News debate after the Republican front-runner sent out special invitations to an event that is scheduled to take place at the same time.

The "Donald J. Trump Special Event to Benefit Veterans Organizations” will be hosted by Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, with doors opening at 5 p.m. local time, and the event itself starting at 8 p.m. — exactly when Fox News lifts the curtain on its main stage debate.

The real estate mogul announced yesterday through his campaign that he will not be attending the debate over concerns about “bias” from Fox News anchor and debate moderator Megyn Kelly.

Trump blamed Fox statement for not participating in debate, insisting it wasn't the Kelly feud.

At a pre-rally press conference Tuesday, Trump told reporters he planned to organize a charity event for the Wounded Warrior Project to help injured vets, but it remained unclear if the organization was involved in the special event unveiled tonight.

Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said on Laura Ingraham's radio program that the event would be used to raise funds for multiple veterans organizations.

Lewandowski didn't offer details for when planning for the event started.
