Joseph Randle, Ex-Cowboy Gambled?

Report: Randle was gambling on sports before Cowboys release - Before he was cut by the Cowboys, former Dallas running back Joseph Randle had been gambling on sports, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Randle, who was released in early November, “had been involved in placing wagers on sporting events during the 2015 season,” the Morning News reported, citing four sources. He was also arrested Monday morning for speeding and an outstanding warrant.

An NFL spokesman told the paper that the league had not received any information tying Randle to gambling. Owner Jerry Jones told the Morning News that there was no evidence indicating Randle bet on NFL games, nor did the team suspect he “compromised any Cowboys games last season.”

Randle, who started the first six games of the season, was released after refusing to receive “outside help for his unstable behavior,” the Morning News reports. The report lists other incidents the team found troubling, including a “mysterious” phone call to police.

Randle was arrested last February for allegedly threatening the mother of his son with a gun. The incident also led to his arrest on marijuana possession charges.

Weeks after his release, Randle was arrested at a Kansas casino for allegedly assaulting an officer. He was also arrested for shoplifting in October 2014.

The team, the league and the players’ union have continued to offer Randle help since his release, though he has refused their assistance, the Morning News adds.
