0846 GMT [Dow Jones] Bank of France governor Christian Noyer weighs in to publicly back BNP Paribas SA in the dispute over whether France's largest listed bank violated U.S. sanctions on Iran and other countries. U.S. authorities are conducting a major investigation and BNP Paribas faces potentially huge fines. But Mr. Noyer says the activities were in line with French and European rules, in the most concrete sign of French concern about the potential fallout from the probe. (William.horobin@wsj.com)
