0735 GMT [Dow Jones] Key opposition parties are showing modest gains in early counting of results from South Africa's national elections, but analysts caution their final tallies aren't likely to shake the ruling African National Congress from power or force a significant shift from the party's left-center economic policies. Barclays South Africa economist Peter Worthington says finding tangible differences in the fiscal and development plans promoted by the ANC, Democratic Alliance and Economic Freedom Fighters is "like trying to eat cotton candy with a knife and fork." With about 40% of the vote counted, the Democratic Alliance had 25% of the vote and the upstart Economic Freedom Fighters had 4.4%. patrick.mcgroarty@wsj.com
