0137 GMT [Dow Jones] Taiwan shares are down 0.2% at 8856.65 paring earlier gains as investors turn cautious after the index breaks the 8900 resistance, a local trader says. Largan Precision (3008.TW) rises to a record NT$2050.00 after posting record sales in April--a surprise that lifts investor sentiment, he says. "Many investors are waiting for good news from institutional investor briefings by HTC (2498.TW) later Tuesday and AsusTek (2357.TW) on Wednesday," he adds tipping the Taiex to trade between 8850 and 8950 for the session. HTC rises 1.2% to NT$170.50 and Asustek is up 1.1% at NT$331.00. Financials are weak: Cathay (2882.TW) falls 0.2% to NT$42.20 and Fubon (2881.TW) is down 0.5% at NT$38.95. (fanny.liu@wsj.com)
