Search underway for Afghan trainees missing from air base - Georgia police say there's no indication two Afghan nationals pose a threat after they went missing from an Air Force base.

Valdosta police Chief Brian Childress said Wednesday that there's "zero evidence" the men are terrorists.

Childress says federal, local and state agencies are working with the military to find the men.

Childress says Moody Air Force Base officials informed him Tuesday morning that the men were missing.

Base officials said in a statement Tuesday night that the men didn't report Monday to maintenance training with the 81st Fighter Squadron at the base, about 230 miles south of Atlanta.

Military officials say the two had been at Moody since February 2015 as part of training aimed at improving the Afghanistan air force and were screened before arriving in the U.S.
