EUR/AUD Retreats From Near 3-Month High: 1,4367; 1,4290 Eyed

        0042 GMT [Dow Jones] The euro retreated from a near-three-month high of 1.4588 against the Aussie dollar Tuesday after data showed eurozone annual inflation fell to a five-year low of 0.3% in September, raising the odds that the European Central Bank may announce more quantitative easing measures at its policy meeting Thursday. Dow Jones technical analysis shows the EUR/AUD short-term technical outlook is tilting negative as a bearish outside-day-range pattern was completed Tuesday, while the slow stochastic measure has turned bearish at overbought levels. The euro/Aussie cross in the near term may fall to 1.4367 (Sept. 24 low), then to 1.4290 (Sept. 19 low, currently near 55-day moving average). Spot EUR/AUD is at 1.4451. (jerry.tan@wsj.com)
