The FTSE 100 gained about 1% to 6,200.28, supported by gains Glencore PLC. Large-cap stocks of commodity companies said that they have increased the value of about 1.6 billion pounds ($ 2.45 billion) in a share placement to institutional investors, to make efforts of their debt reduction plan.
The increase in the exchange which is about 1% or more of the index would mark the strongest gains since Sept. 9, data are shown from FactSet.
Higher movement in the market "come under the influence of a rally in Asian stock markets today as well as in the strengthening of European and US stock markets yesterday, which coincides with the surge in oil prices from lows in September." says the analyst of one of the securities in Europe.
