The unidentified man was held by police after allegedly trying to attack Kayla, the bird that represents Crystal Palace in London.
The incident happened when trouble flared before a game against local rivals Charlton Athletic in September.
Police confirmed that a 34-year-old man was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of violent disorder and attempted criminal damage.
The man remains in custody at a south London police station, awaiting further questioning, reported Mirror Online.
The bird has been making appearances at the club’s home ground Selhurst Park since 2010.
Kayla has previous experience of high-profile appearances. She was featured on the album cover of Kings of Leon's "Only By The Night," according to the BBC.
