Iwakuma, 34, agreed to a three-year, $45 million contract earlier this month.
The Los Angeles Times reports the deal is not off, though the Dodgers have been haggling with Iwakuma's representatives.
If #Dodgers indeed had issues with Iwakuma’s physical, one option would be to rework his three-year, $45M contract, lowering guarantee.
If Iwakuma news is true then not taking Frazier over CWS prospects makes even more sense. A SP trade highly likely now.
Iwakuma was 9-5 with a 3.54 ERA in 20 starts for the Seattle Mariners in 2015. He struck out 111 batters in 129 2/3 innings. However, he spent nearly two months on the disabled list with a strained lat and has had elbow and shoulder issues in the past. In his four seasons in the majors -- all with Seattle -- Iwakuma is 47-25 with a 3.17 ERA and a 7.6 K/9 ratio.
In addition to Leake, #Dodgers also on Kazmir, sources say. Told yesterday - even before Iwakuma news - they are not ruling out anyone.
The Dodgers have had a rough offseason in terms of their rotation, losing co-ace Zack Greinke to the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks in free agency and failing to sign a free agent from a deep class that included David Price, Johnny Cueto, Jeff Samardzija and Jordan Zimmermann.
