James Woods survives Colo. crash with concussion - A massive car crash along an icy Colorado highway nearly sent actor James Woods plunging off a cliff when he swerved to avoid the pileup, he revealed on Twitter.

At least six cars collided on Monday morning when a driver speeding through an ice storm spun out of control in the Glenwood Canyon, Woods recalled in a series of “rambling” tweets after the collision.

The 68-year-old "Casino" actor swerved and hit a wall to avoid the pileup, but slid into a guardrail that stopped his Jeep Grand Cherokee from plunging 100 feet into the Colorado River below Interstate 70.

He walked away from the close call with only a “little concussion,” he wrote.

“God smiled on me today,” said the “Once Upon a Time in America” actor, who is recently better known for sharing his conservative views on Twitter. “I am so happy to be alive.”

Although his vehicle’s airbag did not deploy, his “old tank” of a Jeep saved his life, he added.

The route between Denver and Grand Junction is known for its treacherous conditions during the winter months.
