New picture, nursery for Britain's Prince George - "I thoroughly enjoyed photographing a very lovely family, although you have to be sharp as you don't have long when there are two young children involved!" Jelf said in a statement. "I hope everyone enjoys this photo and I am honored that The Duke and Duchess have decided to share it with the public," he said.

Both Prince William and Prince Harry went to Montessori nurseries and William was the first senior member of the royal family to start his education in a nursery rather than the palace, according to the BBC. An Italian doctor named Maria Montessori developed the Montessori method of learning in the first part of the 20th century.

Fundamental to the Montessori's philosophy of education is an emphasis on the child's independence and freedom.

"They were left alone and little by little the children began to work with concentration and the transformation they underwent, was noticeable," Montessori said in a talk given in 1942. "From timid and wild as they were before, the children became sociable and communicative. Their personalities grew and, strange though it may seem, they showed extraordinary understanding, activity, vivacity and confidence. They were happy and joyous," she said.

Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper reported that the Westacre Montessori school costs about $50 per day and that 23 of its 27 children currently receive state funding to help with tuition costs. The paper also said that the average cost of nurseries near Kensington Palace in London was over $22,000 a year.
