Recall for children's cold medicine expands - Two flavors of liquid cold syrup for children are being recalled due to the potential for overdosing.

The products were sold by nine retailers under various brand names. The dose cups have incorrect markings, which can cause an incorrect amount of the syrup to be consumed.

The company, Perrigo, issued the voluntary recall in the United States on two batches of children's guaifensin grape liquid (100 mg/5 mL) and three batches of guaifenesin DM cherry liquid (100mg guaifenesin and 5mg dextromethorphan HBr/ 5 ml). They are in 4 oz. bottles with a dosage cup in a box under the store brand product names.
