Magic Johnson Tries to Recruit Peyton Manning to LA Rams on 'The Tonight Show' - Most assume that quarterback Peyton Manning played his final game in the Denver Broncos' Super Bowl 50 victory over the Carolina Panthers, but Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson hopes The Sheriff has at least one more season left in him.

Johnson became the first person to reserve season tickets for the Los Angeles Rams, and as seen in this video from The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he would like Manning at the helm when L.A. makes its official return to the NFL during the 2016 campaign:

According to WTHR Channel 13, Johnson even offered to help Rams owner Stan Kroenke make the move if Manning is interested: "I tried to talk somebody out of retirement and come to the Rams," Johnson said, motioning toward Manning. "I said, 'Man, if you play again, come to the Rams.' I was working on him backstage. I will even chip in some money."

As seen in this tweet courtesy of Johnson, the Basketball Hall of Famer thinks highly of the future Football Hall of Famer:
Manning has yet to make an official announcement regarding his future, but the 39-year-old seemed to laugh off Johnson's proposal, per WTHR Channel 13: "I'm getting embarrassed," Manning said.

That embarrassment may have paled in comparison to what Manning and Johnson did later in the show:

Manning is a five-time MVP, two-time Super Bowl champion and arguably the greatest quarterback of all time, but he was limited by a foot injury for part of the 2015 season. He threw for just nine touchdowns to go along with 17 interceptions during the regular season.

His ball security improved in the playoffs, but he threw for only 141 yards and a pick in a Super Bowl win spearheaded by Denver's dominant defense.
