Mera 'Justice League', Mera Casting Confirmed

Mera in 'Justice League' and ‘Aquaman’ will be played by Amber Heard - Mera has been cast for “Justice League” and “Aquaman.” Amber Heard has confirmed that she will play the undersea queen and eventual queen of Atlantis in the two upcoming films based on several iconic DC Comics characters. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight posted on March 17, Heard confirmed her casting and said her Mera costume for “Justice League” and “Aquaman” will be very unique.

"It's interesting. It's like, half suit of armor, half scales," Heard said. "It's strange... We're in the process of building it now, so it's coming along."

Amber Heard will make her first appearance as Mera in the movie “The Justice League Part One,” which is due out in November, 2017. The 29-year-old actress and wife of Johnny Depp will then reprise the role of Mera in the “Aquaman” film, which is slated for a July, 2018 release. Heard’s co-star for her role as Mera, who is Aquaman’s love interest in the films, is “Game of Thrones” star Jason Momoa.

According to The Wrap, Heard’s Mera will be joined by some big names in “Justice League Part One.” In addition to Heard and Momoa, the highly anticipated film will star Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg.

For Heard’s Mera role in “Justice League” and “Aquaman,” the actress will work with two different directors. “Justice League Part One’ will be directed by Zack Snyder, while “Aquaman” will be directed by James Wan (“Furious 7.”)

“Justice League: Part Two” is also on the books, and it’s already being planned for a June 14, 2019 premiere.
