‘Dirty Dancing’ ABC Remake Adds ‘Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland - In a dash of corporate synergy, Modern Family co-star Sarah Hyland has been cast as Lisa Houseman opposite Abigail Breslin’s Baby inDirty Dancing, ABC’s three-hour remake of the hit Patrick Swayze-Jennifer Grey movie. The Lisa role was played by Jane Brucker in the original film.

Like the 1987 feature, ABC’s three-hour Dirty Dancing movie centers on Baby (Breslin), an innocent young woman in the early 1960s who vacations with her affluent parents and siblings in the Catskills and falls for Johnny (Cole Prattes), the resort’s charismatic, skilled dance instructor and leader of the working-class entertainment. Hyland’s Lisa is Baby’s older, extroverted sister who spends summer vacation with her affluent family at the resort and falls for Robbie, a womanizing waiter. Nicole Scherzinger and Debra Messing also star.

Dirty Dancing is produced by Lionsgate Television in association with Allison Shearmur Productions.

Hyland, who plays the ditzy Haley Dunphy on ABC’s flagship comedy Modern Family, is repped by WME, RKM and Gang, Tyre, Ramer & Brown.
