0454 GMT [Dow Jones] China's consumer inflation likely softened, while producer deflation eased in April, economists say. The CPI likely climbed 2.0% on year--down from a 2.4% rise in March, due to a slower food price inflation, according to the median forecast of 20 economists surveyed by Dow Jones. "With few signs of substantial stimulus on the horizon, inflation should stay within policymakers' comfort zone," Capital Economics economists say in a note. The producer price index, which tracks factory-gate prices, may have improved on rising commodities prices. The PPI likely dropped by 1.8% on year in April compared with a decrease of 2.3% the month before, the survey shows. The data are due Friday 0130 GMT. (liyan.qi@wsj.com)
