Riccobono was born in 1983 in Palermo, the largest city in Sicily. Her parents are Sicilians of primarily Norman ancestry. She has 3 older sisters and a brother who died when she was 4.

Modeling career

At 14, Riccobono was introduced to the fashion world by photographer Luca LoBosco When she was only 17, the Italian magazine Corriere della Sera named her "the new Laetitia Casta" because of facial similarities with Casta. She soon started traveling internationally as her popularity increased and has appeared on magazine covers such as Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, L'Officiel, and Vanity Fair. In 2002, she appeared on the TV program Stasera Pago Io with host Fiorello, a popular Sicilian-born Italian television presenter. She has also posed for the Pirelli Calendar, shot by Bruce Weber, in 2003, and has appeared in advertisements for the likes of Chanel, Hermès, Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Gianfranco Ferré, and Dolce & Gabbana, Trussardi, Celine, L'Oréal, Alberta Ferretti and many more.. Riccobono commands $20,000 per runway show, her credits including top fashion designers like Chanel, Givenchy, Hermès, Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Giorgio Armani, Fendi, Valentino, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Ferretti, Versace, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld, Dsquared2, Gianfranco Ferré, Missoni, Zac Posen, Blumarine, Kenzo, Trussardi, and Oscar de la Renta. Additionally, in July 2008, she walked for Lancetti during a TV special in memory of the Italian designer.

In 2007, she became the face of Hybris, shot by singer Bryan Adams, and signed with Gilli, Carlo Pignatelli Couture, Alberto Biani and Kiton.

In 2008, Riccobono was engaged to be the testimonial[clarification needed] for a new satellite channel about luxury and lifestyle: High Life TV. Riccobono was shot by photographer Annie Leibovitz for the 2009 "Lavazza Calendar", for which she was featured on the cover.

Forbes named Riccobono in the list of the World's Top-Earning Supermodels.
