IQ Fall in Out of Workforce Looks Like Head Fake

8:58 EDT - The 806K slide in the US workforce last month undoes a large chunk of 1Q's 1.3M-person increase and puts the labor-force participation back at the cycle low of 62.8% logged late last year, which is the lowest level since the late 1970s. That as those out of the labor force topped 92M for the first time thanks to a 988K surge last month after falling 778K in 1Q. Seems that early-year drop was a head fake as there's now 2.2M more people counted as not in the workforce than a year earlier. Meanwhile, 2M more people were employed during that time.
