NZ April Vehicle Sales Benefit From Consumer Confidence

0334 GMT [Dow Jones] New Zealand April vehicle sales are benefiting from renewed consumer confidence--18,767 new and used imported vehicles were sold in the month--up 17% year over year, according to the Motor Trade Association. In the year to date sales are up 22%. "Used imports have really come in to their own in recent months and are helping maintain the momentum that the new car sector set in motion last year. The growth in new vehicles has been more modest in recent months but used imported cars are more than filling the gap," MTA spokesperson Hamish Stuart says.
