0919 GMT [Dow Jones]--The rise of UKIP has significantly increased the uncertainty regarding the result of next year's U.K. general election, says Dominic Bryant, economist at BNP Paribas. The party, which advocates the U.K.'s exit from the EU, won a second seat in parliament overnight. "The bottom line is that single party majority governments with strong majorities look like a thing of the past for the U.K. The next government looks most likely to be a coalition or minority government, which might find fixing problems such as the stubbornly large fiscal deficit more challenging than a single party government," Mr. Bryant says.
