Kevin Spacey Joins Online Education Platform MasterClass - Kevin Spacey has joined MasterClass.

The Academy Award-winning actor is now a part of the online faculty of the newish education platform alongside Serena Williams (tennis), James Patterson (writing) and Dustin Hoffman (acting) whose classes are currently available. Upcoming classes include new instructors Christina Aguilera (singing), Usher (performance) and Annie Leibovitz (photography).

The House of Cards star leaned on a familiar face for his class, drafting Tucker Gates, one of the directors on the Netflix series, to direct his class. Pre-enrollment for Spacey's class is open with the curriculum expected to bow in early 2016.

MasterClass - a San Francisco-based tech company launched in May 2015 by co-founders David Rogier and Aaron Rasmussen - is an online education platform. Each "master" teaches an online course that is available for $90 each and includes video lessons, interactive exercises, learning materials and workbooks.

In making the announcement on Wednesday, Spacey quoted his mentor Jack Lemmon by saying that "if you've done well, it is your duty to send the elevator back down." He continued: "The teachers, mentors and those who gave me opportunities along the way, have made me feel blessed because they taught me the value of striving to be your best. From Joe Papp to Alan Pakula, Sam Mendes and Bryan Singer - I have learned so much from being in their masterclasses - that now MasterClass takes my experiences and combines them in a way that now allows me to give back to others."

He'll likely be giving tips of the trade that he picked up while working on such films as The Usual Suspects, Se7en, A Time to Kill, L.A. Confidential and American Beauty. He's got two Oscars (for Usual Suspects and American Beauty), so his are pretty valuable tips.
