Weapons seized at Gillette Stadium, police say after Classic - Police seized multiple weapons, including what appear to be a large sword and meat cleaver, from the Gillette Stadium employee parking lot after searching a Connecticut man's car.

Officials assigned to Friday's Winter Classic, which took place at the home of the Patriots, notified police of a suspicious man in the parking lot, police told a local ABC affiliate.

The Foxborough Police Department posted a picture of the items Saturday morning and determined that there had been no threat to Gillette Stadium or during the hockey game, when the Canadiens defeated the Bruins 5-1.

Matthew Bromson, 48, of North Granby, Conn. was arrested and is facing multiple charges, including trespassing, disorderly conduct and three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, according to the report.

In 2014, he was reportedly involved in an almost-nine-hours-long standoff with police, after they tried to serve an outstanding warrant at his home in Granby, Conn.

It's unclear if any events are planned at the stadium for Saturday. The Patriots (12-3) are on the road Sunday, facing the Dolphins (5-10) in Miami in the regular-season finale, looking to lock up home field for the playoffs.
