20:35 EDT -- Much of Fed Governor Stein's speech Tuesday evening is  aimed at detailing the difficulty of communicating central bank policy in a way  that doesn't make markets go nuts when the Fed switches gears. He draws a link  between marriage and the tough policy debates that takes place on the FOMC board  these days. He observes "think of why people often forgo prenuptial agreements  when getting married--it is simply too painful to negotiate over every  contingency ahead of time." So much for love.
