RBA Decision a Downside Risk for AUD -BNP Paribas

        0103 GMT [Dow Jones] Tuesday's Reserve Bank of Australia's rate decision is unlikely to offer much support to the Aussie, BNP Paribas says. Since the April policy meeting China growth indicators have remained soft, the RBA commodity price index has slipped further and, most importantly, first-quarter Australian CPI surprised on the downside, the bank says. "This suggests the risk of a more cautious language even if still surrounding an overall neutral stance," the bank says. Spot AUD/USD was recently at 0.9282 compared with 0.9269 in late New York trade Monday. (jerry.tan@wsj.com)
